Middle School Student Julen Givelber Qualifies for State Geography Bee
Grade 7 student Julen Givelber, having won the Annie Wright Middle School Geography Bee in January, was one of the 100 top-scoring students on a qualifying test for the state competition on Friday, March 27, at Pacific Lutheran University.
Under the auspices of the National Geographic Society, the state bee is the second level of the competition, now in its 27th year. Champions at this level earn the chance to represent their state in the national bee in Washington DC in May.
