Ebola Health Worker and Time Magazine Person of the Year to visit Annie Wright

On March 2, Annie Wright will welcome one of Time magazine’s Persons of the Year (2014), Matthew Rollosson. Rollosson was part of collective group of international health workers battling the deadly ebola epidemic overseas in West Africa.

Though it was hard to leave his job at the Tacoma Health Department, and especially his wife and 2-year-old son, Rollosson felt he had a duty to help. “It was a job that needed to be done, and it’s one that I had appropriate training and skills to do,” he said.

In some places, the hysteria that surrounded the epidemic caused a major lack of trust in health officials and workers. Rollosson will break down some myths and share his experiences working in West Africa during chapel.
