Upper School Art Teacher John Weir Becomes Official IB Examiner

Upper School art teacher John Weir was appointed today as an official examiner for Visual Arts by the International Baccalaureate organization.

Examiners play an important role in maintaining the quality of assessment for which the IB is known worldwide. John will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the IB assessment process and get hard data that will inform teachers and students about how to improve scores on the exams.

The role of examiner is highly valued, and the IB places emphasis on the professional integrity of individuals in examining positions. Together, examiners assess the work of more than 120,000 Diploma Programme students.
