Cook Sisters Become Acting Heads of Schools

Annie Wright fourth grader Lauren Cook and her sister, second grader Katie Cook, took the reins as acting Heads of Schools yesterday. They spent the day greeting incoming students, meeting with senior administrators and alumni, making important decisions and performing a variety of other headmasterly tasks. This experience was a special auction item from the 2014 Gator Gala.

In their own words:

Starting at 7:30 am, we experienced a day in the life of Annie Wright’s Head of Schools, Christian Sullivan. We met with an alumna, Marilyn Lepape ’52, and our favorite part of the day was learning about how different the school was in the 50’s. For example, younger students boarded; students lined up in height order to inspect how well-polished student’s shoes were; and a bowling tournament was played all year round in the Annie Wright bowling lane.

The biggest challenge was trying to please everyone when making decisions and of course cracking the code to the cupcake challenge. We think we should be the Head of Schools all year as we enjoyed seeing parts of the school we don’t normally see.
