Day School Gators Shine in Cross Country

Annie Wright Lower School had 51 dedicated cross country runners, ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 5. These runners came to every practice and meet with an abundance of energy and excitement as they trained hard on building their cardovasicular endurance and enjoyed the freedom of running with friends.

Several runners stood out and ran very well against other schools during the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Cross Country meets held each week at Bellarmine Prep. Those who placed in the top five in their age groups include Cooper Dicks and Eli Weir for the Kindergarten quarter mile, Mia Seher for the Grade 2 half mile and Tommy Hanly for the Grades 4-5 mile. In addition, Grade 8 student Josh Oie came first in the Middle School 1.5 mile race with a time of 9:31.23.

I am so proud of every runner for his or her performance and dedication to Lower School Cross Country. It has been a true pleasure to coach them.
