Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to explore Annie Wright Schools. We hope that you find the information throughout our Web site helpful and informative. If at any time, you would like to speak with someone on our staff, please do not hesitate to contact us at +1 (253) 284-8600.

We realize that finding the “best fit” school for your child can be a daunting task. Annie Wright Schools offer rich, thoughtful and internationally-recognized programs that welcome students from around the world. These years are formative, often becoming a time of heightened self-discovery. At Annie Wright, we see young, bright-eyed boys and girls enter our doors excited about this new chapter in their academic career. Years later, these confident, skilled, young adults leave well-prepared for the academic, social and moral challenges they will face.

Annie Wright honors the trust that parents place in us, and embraces that responsibility as we prepare children to live and compete in a very complex and shrinking world. We dedicate ourselves to challenging your children in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in their artistic growth -- supporting each student’s passion to pursue excellence. During their years here, students will find a family-like environment filled with talented and committed faculty and staff who challenge them, celebrate their achievements and provide a haven in times of need.

Each year, we receive applications from more students than we can enroll, which makes admission to Annie Wright Schools competitive. Therefore, we encourage families to begin the application process in the fall of the year prior to admission and complete all admission requirements by our priority deadline. Applications received after our priority deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.

Hopefully, the value of the Annie Wright experience is apparent throughout this Web site. While our Web site offers a glimpse into what life and learning at Annie Wright are really like, it should not be a substitute for a visit to our campus, which will provide the most accurate sense of our vibrant community. Our admission office will assist you in any way we can, so please do not hesitate to contact us for further information at admission@aw.org or by calling (253) 284-8600.

We wish you all the best in this important search.

Independent Schools
Dr. Richard J. Light of Harvard University recently published a report describing five areas in which independent school graduates differ significantly from their counterparts from even the best public schools. Dr. Light found that independent school alumni were:
  • Significantly better in writing preparedness, especially with regard to research papers
  • Much more likely (450%) to seek out advice from a faculty member
  • Much more likely to choose the appropriate class level
  • Much more likely to have better time management skills
  • More likely to have a broader world view
