Fund-A-Need 2024

The annual Fund-A-Need (FAN) is an opportunity for the Gator community to support a specific area at Annie Wright Schools that enhances programming and learning for our students and community at large.

FUND-A-NEED 2024

Embark on a transformative journey to build a new fitness center at Annie Wright Schools, promoting lifelong wellness for students from Preschool to Grade 12. This initiative extends beyond traditional fitness spaces, encompassing a faculty and staff fitness room, yoga studio, and enhanced athletic facilities.

PROJECT DETAILS

List of 3 items.

  • Fitness Center

The primary focus of this project is to activate currently unused space on campus to create a brand new fitness center for students and faculty/staff. This building will be situated along the west side of the Kemper gym and will include three distinct wellness spaces:
    • Yoga studio space
    • Cardio fitness room
    • Faculty & staff fitness center, separate from student access
In addition to creating a new, more practical space for students and staff to exercise, this project also represents an ongoing investment into the culture of wellness at AWS. Students of all ages will benefit emotionally, physically and cognitively from these spaces, and will build healthy lifestyle habits at every stage of their development.
  • Expansion of Training Room

The construction of the new health center will create additional space in our current weight room, situated above the Kemper Gym. With cardio equipment migrating out of the current training room and a new full-time athletic trainer on staff, this space will be more fully activated to better serve student-athletes of all ages.
  • Facility Updates & Renovations

Also wrapped into this project are the addition of two exterior restroom facilities at the back of the Bessler Gymnasium with access for James Field. This is a much-needed addition for students and guests alike, who do not currently have access to restrooms from this outdoor space. In addition, the locker rooms in the Kemper Center will be updated to current standards and become more usable for our student-athletes and visiting teams.

STRONG GATORS, BRIGHT MINDS: CULTIVATING A HEALTHY FUTURE

THE 2024 FUND-A-NEED VISION

This year's Fund-A-Need is tied to the creation of a space that seeks to build and inspire wellness for our entire community. As our school grows, so too does the need for additional spaces that allow students & faculty room to move, stretch, teach, train, and ultimately, to be the best versions of themselves.

We envision a holistic approach to well-being, fostering physical strength and mental resilience. Join us in creating a vibrant space that is fit for the future where health is integral to our educational community. Your support will shape a space that reflects our commitment to student and staff wellness—a testament to our dedication to a healthier, more empowered generation.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Annie Wright's community has generously supported the growth of our Schools through Fund-A-Need's past: Science, Play Spaces, a Kemper Theatre upgrade, improving Community Spaces, the addition of a new Arts Hub, and more. We are so grateful.
